Dr. Jill Copenhagen
Jill Copenhagen
Dr. Jill Copenhagen grew up in Saratoga, CA. She was an active member of her local Pony Club, eventually attaining the rating of H-A. Jill completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where she majored in biology. She then attended vet school at the University of California, Davis, from where she graduated in 2010. Dr. Jonathan FurlongJonny Furlong

Between the last name, the parents, and the upbringing, Dr. Jonny Furlong was always destined to become an equine veterinarian. He tried to pursue a different path, which lead to him studying Exercise Physiology at the University of Virginia, where he completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. As part of his master’s degree, Jonny spent a year working at UVA’s SPEED Lab, a world-class [human] gait analysis facility, focused on running performance and injury rehabilitation. The experience was immediately familiar, as analyzing athletes’ jogging is basically a Furlong family pastime. After that lightbulb moment, Jonny accepted his fate, and decided to follow his parents’ footsteps. He attended veterinary school at the University of Melbourne (Australia), graduating with first class honors in 2017. After graduating, Jonny spent the next year and a half in Ocala, FL, completing an ambulatory internship at Peterson & Smith Equine Hospital. While there, he had the opportunity to work with horses from many different disciplines and industries, including: thoroughbred training, racing, breeding, and sales; eventing; Western pleasure; dressage, and combined driving. Jonny returned home to join the practice in June 2019. His areas of interest include lameness, diagnostic imaging, sports medicine and rehabilitation, and general ambulatory practice. He has served as the official US Team Veterinarian for US Driving. When not working, Jonny can usually be found on a bike or playing with his Irish Terrier, Groot.

Tina McPheetersTina McPheeters

katlinKatlin Russell: Katlin grew up in Mississippi and at a young age developed a fascination for all animals. Her love for horses soon blossomed into a passion when she found herself working as a professional whipper-in/groom for a foxhunt in Alabama. While working for the foxhunt Katlin also found her love for repurposing thoroughbred racehorses for foxhunting and jumping. It was because of foxhunting that she was able to go to New Zealand in 2019 and work for the Master of a hunt, this position allowed her to have a “true New Zealand hunt experience” jumping over wire fences and galloping across the infamous New Zealand hills. She graduated with her BS in Animal and Dairy Science with a concentration in Pre-Vet from Mississippi State University in 2020. In her spare time, she enjoys riding “her pony”, a big 17 hand thoroughbred, spending time with her two dogs, and binge watching The Office for the 15th time.
