Meet the Team

Dr. Lisa Casinella
Lisa CasinellaDr. Lisa Casinella grew up in Jamesville, NY. She is a 1996 graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada. From 1996-2010 she practiced in central Virginia. In 2010 she joined Peak Performance Equine Services, working alongside Dr. Christiana Ober in Ocala, FL as an ambulatory practitioner specializing in the performance horse.  She has developed a comprehensive background in both the sport horse and race horse industries; Dr. Casinella is actively involved with Thoroughbred sales throughout the east coast. Over the years, she has served as the Official USEF Team Veterinarian for the U.S. Show Jumping, Driving and Vaulting Teams. Lisa also added complementary medicine to her portfolio, utilizing equine acupuncture. Dr. Casinella is based year round in Ocala. She and her husband Randy, are immersed in the Thoroughbred racing industry  and spend much of their time with their horses and dog Dottie.

Dr. Jill Copenhagen
Jill Copenhagen
Dr. Jill Copenhagen grew up in Saratoga, CA. She was an active member of her local Pony Club, eventually attaining the rating of H-A. While volunteering for her veterinarian, she discovered her passion for not only riding, but also helping horses. Jill completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, where she majored in biology. She then attended vet school at the University of California, Davis, from where she graduated in 2010. Looking to explore a new part of the country, she completed an internship at the Equine Medical Center of Ocala in Ocala, FL, further developing an interest in lameness and sports medicine. Upon finishing the internship, she was offered the opportunity to spend a year as a veterinary assistant to Dr. Christiana Ober, refining her skills in lameness evaluations, imaging, pre-purchase examinations and managing the competition horse. Jill has since stayed on as an associate and has had the opportunity to represent Peak Performance at national and international competitions including Rolex, Bromont, Fair Hill, Boekelo in 2012. She has also attended the Options For Animals College of Animal Chiropractic, where she became certified by the IVCA. Jill is now proud to offer chiropractic evaluations and adjustments as an integrative therapy for the equine athletes of the practice. During her time working with Dr. Ober, she has also served in an assistant veterinary capacity to the Canadian National Team. Dr. Copenhagen spends half her year in Middleburg, VA and the other half of the year in Ocala, FL. She also services Aiken, SC intermittently throughout the winter. In her spare time, Jill enjoys playing volleyball and other outdoor sports and spending time with friends.

Alyson BaberDr. Alyson Baber

Dr. Alyson Baber grew up in rural Northeastern Pennsylvania. She began riding at the age of four. Her parents, both jewelers, traded a pair of earrings for her first pony.
Dr. Baber completed her undergraduate studies at Delaware Valley University. Here she competed in Intercollegiate Dressage and discovered her love for eventing. Dr. Baber attended veterinary school at the University College of Dublin and graduated with First Class Honours in 2016. Upon graduation Alyson completed an intensive surgical and sports medicine internship in Lexington, Kentucky to further hone her lameness and imaging skills. Here she discovered her interest in racehorse medicine and accepted an associate position the following year at Churchill Downs. Dr. Baber went on to work at Pocono Downs racetrack before accepting an associate position at Peak Performance Equine in Ocala, Florida. She is excited to return to her sport horse background. In the near future Dr. Baber hopes to gain ISELP accreditation and attend the Chi Institute for equine acupuncture. In her spare time, Alyson enjoys riding her young OTTB, Stewie and spending time with her retired horse, Chance. Alyson also has two Chihuahuas, Emilio and Zita. She also enjoys hiking, lifting weights, and spending time with friends.
Victoria ClaytonVictoria Clayton
Victoria grew up in Pine Mountain, Ga. She started riding horses at the age of eight. In 2013, Victoria was on the Area III Young Rider team and helped bring home a team gold medal for the 1* team. She has competed to the CIC 3* level with her mount, The Secret Agent. Victoria graduated from Auburn University in May 2019 with a degree in Animal Science. She moved to Lexington, Kentucky to work as nursing assistant at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital before accepting a Vet Tech position at Peak Performance Equine Services. Victoria works as Dr. Alyson Baber’s tech and is also trained on the Artemis Laser system. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and five horses back home.
Madelynn HeneghanMadelynn Heneghan
Maddie Heneghan grew up in Boston, Virginia where she was raised on her family’s small sheep farm and spent many days at her aunt’s small animal veterinary practice. Her passion for caring for animals has been there since she was a young girl. Maddie recently graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2019 with her B.S. in Animal and Poultry Sciences with her eye on attending veterinary school next. She spends half of the year in Middleburg, VA working with Dr. Copenhagen and then travels down with her to Ocala, FL for the winter season. While her childhood pony gets to stay in Virginia, her young OTTB, Mabel, and her Aussie, Marvin get to vacation with her in Ocala for the winter. In her free time, you will see her riding out in the jump field with Marvin trailing close behind.
Tina McPheetersTina McPheeters
Tina grew up in Illinois and developed a passion for horses through her mother. Riding sporadically as a kid, she was always animal crazy. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2004 and started working as a credentialed equine technician. As a licensed veterinary technician, Tina has gained a wide range of experience in anesthesia, nuclear scintigraphy, radiology, and microbiology before finding her passion for sports medicine.   In search of warmer weather she relocated to Ocala in 2016. She joined PPES in October 2017 as an ambulatory technician. In her spare time, she enjoys stand up paddle board, cooking and spending time with friends and her dog Thelma.
